What People are saying about Miracle
Casters
Received your casters and they seem to be working
great. I can move on the rug!
Eilleen H., Harrisburg, PA
Excellent. This looks perfect and much better than
replacing the flimsy
chair mat I bought barely a year ago! Thanks,
Jim T., Apex, NC
Wanted to let you know that I put the
casters on my Aeron chair, and omigod they are awesome !!!
I have to tell you that I was somewhat skeptical they
would do the trick w/ our carpet, but MAN! that chair glides so smoothly
now.
So, definitely put it on your web site that the
Miracle Casters are perfect
for the Herman Miller Aeron chairs. The fit is perfect, the
caster slides in w/ a little resistance and doesn't have
any problems being loose at all. And the stem is a little longer than the stock
caster, but I measured the
hole, and there's plenty of space left even above the
Miracle Casters' stem.
Thanks again, and I'll be ordering another set
(possibly 2).
Richard H., Los Angeles, CA
I just wanted to say "thank you" for the excellent
casters and the wonderful service at Miracle Casters. The casters made it so
much easier to roll on my desk mat which kept getting indentations that would
make it hard to roll after sitting for a while. The casters also solved a
problem my chair had with making a really loud "snapping" noise when I would sit
in it for a while and then try to roll. . . . Your service and product are
wonderful. . . .
Nathan I. Sacramento, CA
Perfect. Great price, great product, and I
couldn't believe you shipped it UPS Priority at no charge; arrived less than
48 hours after I placed the order. Very nice surprise.
Goodbye ugly plastic mat! Your casters went
on an Aeron chair, and actually improved an already-excellent product. I've
got a pretty bad neurological condition which causes major pain; the Aeron
has helped that, and your casters are little 'miracles' too, making a good
product better.
I've successfully ordered goods from the
internet for many years, but this is the first time I've felt I should write
a company with my compliments. Keep up the good work! Many blessings.
Michael, GA
I received the casters today and installed
them on my Aeron chair. They're great. I have Berber carpeting with
spongy underpad backing. The wheels roll very well on it. Also, the
chair seat post was making contact with the carpet and damaging it. Now
it rides 1-1/2" above the carpet. Thanks for solving my chair problem.

Optional Caster Sockets
The optional caster sockets featured on this page work with Miracle Casters (and other casters
that have a 7/16-in. diameter grip-ring stem.). These sockets allow Miracle Casters to be mounted to furniture other than chairs, or to chairs that do not have a suitable socket.
Now, desks, TV caddies, bar-stools and even home-made furnishings (like
the plant pot platform pictured above) can be fitted with Miracle Casters.
Select the socket design that will work best with your
particular type of furniture. Some chairs and certain types of furniture
may not be suitable for use with any of the sockets featured here. There
is always a risk that modifying furniture by adding sockets or casters
may lead to furniture damage or personal injury. Use these sockets at
your own risk.
Broad-Brimmed Top Hat Caster Socket: Click image for larger view with dimensions. Shaped like a broad-brimmed top hat, this socket is perfect for chairs with thick and sturdy wooden legs. The wide-diameter tack plate (the brim of the hat) measures 2 1/8-in. so the stress of the caster stem is distributed over a wide area, reducing the likelihood of damage to your chair leg. This socket is sometimes used on pianos. Can be used on a variety of wooden furniture. We used
four of these on the plant pot
platform pictured at the top of this page.
Will fit a 7/16-in. diameter stem up to 1 1/4-in. long. Start by drilling a
hole at least 9/16-in. diameter in the bottom of your chair leg (or other
furniture). Then insert the top of the "hat" into the hole and secure
with four screws or bolts (not included). Stainless steel.
Narrow-Brimmed Top Hat Caster Socket: Click image for larger view with dimensions. Shaped like a
narrow-brimmed top hat, this socket is perfect for stools, chairs or other
furniture with one-inch
diameter tubular steel legs. Bottom of tubular steel leg must be
perpendicular to the floor. Sockets should be welded to tubular steel legs,
though epoxy can be used in light-duty applications.
Can also be used in
some wood chair legs and other wood furniture. When used on wood furniture,
you will need to drill a hole at least 9/16-in. diameter. For best results,
drill a slightly larger hole (5/8-in.-3/4-in.) and then use epoxy to cement the
socket in place. Because of the stresses created by moving furniture on
casters, and the small tack plate (hat brim) on this socket, care should be
taken to avoid damaging furniture. For instance, narrow wooden chair legs may
crack or break under stress. Furniture made from hard wood and used for light-duty
applications will be at lower risk of damage due to stress. Unplated steel.
Epoxy: For use with Narrow-Brimmed Top Hat above. Two-part epoxy
will secure socket to wood or metal. (Welding is preferred method of
securing socket to metal.) You can also find similar epoxies at any hardware
store. 1 oz. Enough for cementing 5 to 10 casters. Brand of epoxy may
vary.
Side Bracket Caster Socket: Click image for larger view with dimensions. Designed to mount to a flat surface like the
side of a desk (along the bottom edge). Use screws or bolts to attach (not included). Unplated steel.
Corner Bracket Caster Socket: Click image for larger view with dimensions.
Designed to mount to the inside corner at the bottom of a piece of furniture
such as a desk. Use screws or bolts to attach (not included).
